The HunterNet Future Leaders Program is a transformative development initiative designed to prepare the next generation of leaders within the Hunter region’s industrial sectors. By combining practical experience, mentorship, and networking opportunities, the program empowers young professionals to drive innovation, improve productivity, and foster sustainable growth in their industries.
As a key sponsor of this year’s program, the ATB Morton Group is proud to play a role in nurturing talent throughout the region. Our sponsorship reflects our commitment to cultivating a robust and resilient industrial future while fostering leadership potential within our community.
Participants, including ATB Morton’s Sergio Fresco, acquire essential insights into critical leadership competencies such as project management, strategic communication, and business resilience. Sergio and his team embarked on a vital project focused on “futureproofing” TW Woods, where they identified challenges and developed strategies for creating a more resilient and forward-thinking organisation. This hands-on experience allowed them to apply their knowledge directly while honing their problem-solving and collaboration skills, which are crucial as they advance in their careers.
In this year’s program, four teams competed and worked diligently to tackle unique challenges and devise strategies for developing resilient, forward-thinking business models, each with their own assigned company. Their efforts culminated in final presentations to a panel of judges, accompanied by comprehensive reports that detailed their findings and recommendations. Although Sergio’s team did not win, the competition was intense, showcasing the remarkable talent and creativity of all participants. Ultimately, the experience proved valuable for everyone involved, with each group gaining critical insights and skills, leaving them all as winners in their own right.
The HunterNet Future Leaders Program ensures that tomorrow’s leaders are not only equipped with technical expertise but also with the vision and networks necessary to navigate the constantly evolving industrial landscape. By investing in this next generation, HunterNet contributes to the growth and sustainability of the region’s industries, paving the way for a promising future.
With the backing of all industry sponsors, the Hunter region continues to cultivate a pipeline of skilled professionals ready to address the changing demands of our sector. By supporting emerging leaders, we are investing in individual growth while enhancing the long-term sustainability and success of the entire region.
